March Stylin' Stampin' Hop

It's that time again! Can anyone else believe that it's March 1st? February escaped me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one this happened to. Therefore, I decided to make this month's projects "simple, and easy to duplicate!"

My friend's daughter turns 1 at the end of March, so my card project this month is a postcard invitation made with My Digital Studio.

My favorite feature in My Digital Studio is the ability to change the opacity on the Designer Series Papers. I used Concord Crush on the top half of the card, and it was just too dark at 100%. I also changed the opacity of the bottom of the cupcake, which allowed you to see barely see the polka dots showing through from the Pear Pizazz paper.

My 3-D project is a bookmark. I was just hired to make some bookmarks for a co-worker, so they are fresh in my mind. However, since I used retired product on those, I designed a new one for you!

Card Stock: Rich Razzleberry, Naturals White

Stamp set: Elements of Style

Classic Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze

Adhesive: 2-way glue pen

Accessories: Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit

I love Elements of Style; it really is one of my most often "go-to" stamp sets. I also love that the Blossom Builders kit is double-sided; it doubles its versatility!

February's Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop

Welcome! I'm so excited to be participating in my first Blog Hop! Plus very blessed to join some of my Stampin' Up! sisters on the Hop!
My first project is a Valentine's card featuring some great new products from the Occasions Mini catalog, and of course, some Sale-A-Bration items. I fell in love with the Cherry Cobbler/Pool Party combination I used for some of my Christmas cards, and it's carrying over into Valentine's for me!

Supplies used:

Cardstock: Pool Party (SAB), Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Stamp set: Outlined Occasions (SAB)
Punches: Ticket corner and 2 1/2" Circle
Accessories: Pool Party Baker's Twine, Big Shot, Fashionable Hearts Embosslits
Adhesive: Tombow, Glue dots, Stampin' dimensions

When I was brainstorming for a good 3-D Valentine's project, I kept thinking about the paper mailboxes we made in grade school to get all of our Valentine's in. This little mailbox was super simple and so much fun to make! (Wonder if it will give my hubby the hint that I'd like a Valentine???)

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and almost Happy Valentine's Day, all at one time!

I can't believe that January is already over! But I'm loving this weather we've been having lately here in the Heartland!

Big fun in August!

Wow, where did July go? The new Idea Book & Catalog just came out.....one month ago!

I've been busy playing with new accessories I've gotten, trying out new ideas, and creating new projects for August events.

July was an exciting month. Michelle C. was my first hostess to benefit from the new hostess plan. With her $400 workshop, she got $65 in free merchandise, PLUS she chose to purchase the Big Shot as her 50% off item! I also had fun setting up vendor booths at the Emporia Senior Center crop and Emporia Mainstreet's Midnight Madness. I got to meet lots of fun, crafty new people!

My August calendar is filling up quickly, but I do have a few dates towards the end of the month available for workshops. These are two of the projects that August hostesses have the option of choosing for us to make at their workshop:

Cropping and MDS

I had a vendor booth at a local crop to benefit our senior center this weekend. It was the first two day crop I've ever participated it; and I loved it! I sold some retired product (got to make room for the new), worked on a few projects, and most importantly: met some new friends that I look forward to getting to know better at future events.
I didn't get as many things completed as I'd hoped. (I should have known better, right?) But I did get several pages done in my KC trip album, so I was very happy. On a good schedule with that, since it took me a year to finish the Omaha album, and I'm already a third done with this one!

New In Colors

I got my latest Stampin' Up! order yesterday! The new In Colors (cardstock, markers, ink pads and refills), new ribbon, the new Petite Pennants punch, and the Tote-ally Tess stamp set that I've been wanting. All completely FREE, thanks to my last title promotion!

Traylor and I just got back from our late anniversary trip, so I've got over 200 pictures to scrapbook. Would it be wrong if I spent his entire birthday today scrapping and playing with my new stamping toys?

Great Stampin' Up! week

What a week! I got my free preview copy of the new catalog, the free stamp set I earned during Sale-A-Bration, and my latest MDS (My Digital Studio) album that I created and had printed. I also got my Certificate of Promotion and pin for promoting to Senior Supervisor!
Believe me, you are going to want to get your hands on this new catalog. I've joked that the hubby's going to divorce me for putting us in the poor house because there so much new stuff that I have to have! :)

Embossing Twist #1

I used two new ideas today for this fun card. I mixed two of our embossing powders together for a new color and extra dimension. Then I used the embossing powder as "grout" for a mosaic look.

Thanks for joining me on this journey! My name is Darcy. I've been papercrafting for 8 years. I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in January 2004. I love sharing my love of stamping with anyone and everyone, especially those who think they are not creative. There's no greater sense of accomplishment for me than seeing the look on someone's face when they realize they have just created the wonderful project in their hands!
I have two other loves besides Stampin' Up! They are my husband, Traylor; and our furry baby, Abby. She thinks she's a stampin' cat, however her idea of helping is eating cardstock or adhesive or ribbon. Yet, she can't figure out how she got the nickname, "devil child!"
